North Carolina Small Grains Field Day set for Feb. 16

The program begins at 10 a.m. with presentations on disease management, weed management, grain marketing, nitrogen fertilization, and mid-season fertility management in wheat.

The 200 Northeast Ag Expo Small Grains Field Day is set for Wednesday, Feb. 16 at White Hat Seed Farm in Perquimans County (102 Whitehat Rd., Herford, N.C. 27944). The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and a trade show that consists of educational booths and vendors displaying their products.

The program begins at 10 a.m. with presentations focused on wheat production in the areas of disease management, weed management, grain marketing, nitrogen fertilization, and mid-season fertility management decisions. The program concludes at noon with a catered lunch.

The Northeast Ag Expo Team is a North Carolina Cooperative Extension group that serves Camden, Currituck, Chowan, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans Counties. The Northeast Ag Expo Team holds two field days annually, which are collaborative efforts with agriculture producers, agribusinesses, North Carolina State University, and commodity groups.
