Farming practices and effective management are key requirements for Peanut Efficiency Award winners.
The Peanut Efficiency Award is presented each year to growers who produce high yields and are efficient in their production. Winners are selected in each of four peanut producing regions of the U.S., the upper Southeast, the lower Southeast, the Midsouth or Delta, and the Southwest.
The year the winners are Ben Cowin, Williamston, N.C., Upper Southeastern states; Wayne Hobbs, Irwin County, Ga., Lower Southeastern states; Mitchell Rogers, Covington County, Miss.; Delta region; and Karl Stutzman, Weatherford, Okla., Southwest region.
