Prepping for fall harvest

Virtual session series focuses on getting ready for #harvest22.

Is the combine ready to roll? What extra parts should you have on hand? And are you ready to accept all that fresh data? The latest Farm Progress 365 virtual sessions – July 26, 27 and 28 – will dig into those topics in depth.

Farm Progress 365 is a new service providing farmers a growing library of useful information, and access to live events. A series of monthly seasonal sessions targets hot topics during the ag year and with harvest approaching, the next sessions are taking on that challenge.

From shop talk with a veteran combine technician to a tech update from a company working with Midwestern farmers to help them improve their data use, these sessions offer you a quick update for the coming harvest season. And as part of these regular seasonal sessions, the final event on July 28 willl be an update on the markets.

July 26 – 10 a.m. Central

Prepping your combine for harvest

We talk with Dean Froemming, veteran service technician with Minnesota farm equipment retailer Arnold Companies Inc., about key factors to review before rolling out this season. Froemming has a long history in working with combines of all brands and will offer a walkaround showing key features to manage. In addition, he’ll be available for the live question and answer session for this program.

July 27 – 10 a.m. Central

Harvest preparation – the tech side

Travis Kohrman, founder Xperience Ag, a Greensburg, Ind., company working with farmers to maximize the precision ag tools they use and the information they acquire. Kohrman notes that he’s worked with farmers who have information they have yet to put to work and sees value in helping producers make the most of what they learn. He’ll discuss those issues and be on hand to answer customer questions live.

July 28 – 10 a.m. Central

A market update ahead of harvest

How are crops looking? What does that mean for your marketing plan ahead of harvest? We’ll touch on those issues and more with Tommy Grisafi, Advance Trading, Inc. Grisafi is a risk adviser and commodity broker for Advance Trading who has held a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade for more than 25 years and is an independent trader at the CME. He is the owner of Ag Bull Media and the host of the Ag Bull Podcast.
