MEMPHIS, Tennessee, January 5, 2020 – The Seam, a leading provider of food and agribusiness software and trading solutions, today announced the appointment of Shelby Manley as UI/UX Developer and Von Ralls as Senior Analyst, Business Development. Manley reports to Jason Sutton, Director of Information Technology, and Ralls reports to Mark Pryor, Chairman and CEO.
“We are thrilled to have Shelby and Von on board, especially as we continue expanding our offerings into soybeans and other food and agricultural products,” said Pryor. “With Shelby’s deep understanding of the user experience and how it can be optimized, and Von’s extensive background in information systems and strategic software development, they have proven to be great additions to our growing team.”
As UI/UX Developer, Manley facilitates development and user experience efforts for myriad sustainability platforms, including the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol and others. She works with the company’s software engineering team to build and test new features and enhance platforms prior to, during and after launch. Before joining The Seam, Manley served as a web developer at a local interactive agency. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama and recently obtained her Code 1.0 Certification with Tech901. When she’s not working, Manley enjoys reading, crafting, cooking and spending time with her family.
As Senior Analyst, Business Development, Ralls collects, analyzes, develops and communicates business requirements and technical models for internal, external and prospective clients. He also provides assistance and hands-on software development, as necessary, to advance the company’s goals and business development growth. Prior to The Seam, Ralls held various roles as a web developer, database administrator and information systems manager. He received his associate degree from Southwest Tennessee Community College. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, long-distance running and volunteering with GiveCamp Memphis to build websites and solve technical problems for nonprofit organizations that might not be able to afford those services otherwise.
“After meeting Mark at a GiveCamp event and speaking with him about what The Seam was doing, I knew right away that I needed to be part of this team,” said Ralls. “The people at The Seam are amazing and innovative, and I’m grateful to be a part of it. It’s important to me to work on the cutting edge of technology. Being a part of The Seam gives me that opportunity.”
